storytelling & networking

Networking is an art form in and of itself. It's about building authentic relationships and connections whilst building trust and credibility.

It's not about what I can get from you; it's about how we can support each other. At its core, it's about love.

Before we work together, relationships must be formed. We can talk about sports' teams we know and love, we can bond over familial structures, and hopes for our communities. These are shared experiences.

It doesn't matter if I root for Liverpool, the Mavericks, and the Yankees (well maybe it does), but it gives us a starting point from which to build relationships.

If you know that my grandparents owned a shoe store and how that affects me as a human, we have something to fall back on when the project we're working on gets intense.

When you know I love music and dance, we can sing a line or two, shimmy in our chairs, and then get back to work.

Couched in the stories we hold, networking with an edge of vulnerability allows us to connect before we pursue a project together.

Knowing each other at a professional, yet human level, helps to create a cohesive team and allows for a shared vision. It makes room for flexibility, grace, and respect.

The Aurelia Network, the consulting arm of 917 Studios, focuses on the science of happiness and storytelling to make our workplaces happier and more productive places to create.

I look forward to working with you soon.

Warmly,

Rebecca
